Military Medal 'Operations: British Front near Pont a Pierres and Beaulignies 23rd October 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the attack Private Foster was in charge of a Lewis gun Section, and on two occasions rushed his gun forward
silencing enemy machine guns which were holding the troops up. He showed fine leadership and absolute disregard for personal safety, and set a magnificent
example to all ranks.'
