Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Near Bapaume during the operations 24th August [to] 4th September 1918, while acting as Platoon Sergeant this
NCO showed marked gallantry throughout the operations. Despite heavy shell and machine gun fire Sergeant Finucane carried out many reconnaissances in advance of his platoon. His conduct was a magnificent example to his comrades.'
