Disembarked Devonport, England, 22 August 1916. Marched in to Sling Camp, Wiltshire, and taken on strength Auckland Company, 1st Brigade Training Bn, 23 August 1916.

Proceeded overseas to France, 26 September 1916; disembarked Etaples and marched in to New Zealand Infantry and General Base Depot, 27 September 1916.

Joined 1st Bn, Auckland Infantry Regiment, in the field, 1 November 1916.

Wounded in action, 12 February 1917; admitted to No 1 New Zealand Field Ambulance and transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 13 February 1916 (bomb wounds, legs).

Died from wounds received in action, 14 February 1917.
