Admitted to 3rd NZ Field Ambulance, 26 June 1917 (diarrhoea); transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 29 June 1917.

Joined 2nd Bn, NZ Rifle Brigade, in the field, 9 July 1917, and posted to C Company.
