Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry during the operations east of St Julien on 4 October 1917, Pte Faithfull in cooperation with Corpl. Maynard rushed a series of shell holes, defended by German machine gunners with 2 Guns. With great dash they captured both guns, and disposed of the enemy Gunners, thus paving the way for the renewal of our advance.'
