Military Cross 'After a hurried reconnaissance before darkness set in the night before, he attacked with his company at 2.30 in the morning with complete success, and later on led them forward to a second successful attack, when he was wounded. He, however, remained with his men until they had consolidated and connection with the units on the flanks had been established. His gallantry and initiative and fine example
