Appointed Lance Corporal, 15 October 1917; detached to School of Instruction, 30 October 1917. Detached to Brigade School, 10 November 1917; rejoined unit from detachment, 16 November1917. Admitted to 7th General Hospital, St Omer, 10 January 1918 (mumps, mild); discharged to Base Depot, 29 January 1918. Transferred to 2nd Bn, Auckland Infantry Regiment, 22 February 1918. Admitted to 51st General Hospital, Rouen, 11 April 1918 (venereal disease: mild); discharged, 11 July 1918. Admitted to 51st General Hospital, 4 August 1918 (venereal disease: gonorrhoea); discharged to Base Depot, 17 August 1918.
