Disembarked Malta, 10 September 1915 (varicocele); admitted to Military Hospital Forrest, 13 September 1915 (soft chancre); transferred to St George?s Hospital, 2 October 1915 (varicocele); transferred to England, 15 November 1915, and admitted to 3rd Southern General Hospital, Oxford, 20 November 1915. Proceeded overseas to France , and marched into NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 3 May 1916. Taken on strength, 5th Battery, 2nd Brigade, 10 May 1916. Wounded in action, 19 October 1915 (shrapnel wound, head), and admitted to 37th Field Ambulance; transferred same day to 36th Casualty Clearing Station. Died of wounds, 20 October 1916.
