Military Medal 'Gallantry and devotion to duty. Under heavy artillery fire from 9am on 15th September, Corporal Duthie carried out messages from Advanced Headquarters of the 3rd Battalion, 3rd New Zealand (Rifle) Brigade, behind the Brown line near Flers
to relay station and also to Companies. This NCO attended to his duties with conspicuous coolness and bravery.'
