War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Embarked Alexandria with unit to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli Campaign), 12 April 1915. Admitted to HS 'Gascon', date not stated (gunshot wound, abdomen); transferred to Tigne Hospital, Malta, 18 July 1915; to St David's Hospital, Malta, 3 August 1915; marched into New Zealand & Australia Base Depot, Mustapha, Egypt, 16 September 1915.
