Croix de Guerre (Belgium) 'For faithful service and devotion to duty. This man has been driving the Battery cart for over two years visiting the guns daily under all conditions. During this period he has had three horses killed but never yet has he failed in delivering the stores to the guns. He has a long record of Service, being continuously on duty with the Battery since leaving New Zealand with it in 1914.'
