Military Medal 'Action: Switch Trench, South east of High Wood, 15th September 1916, and Grid Support Trench 1st October 1916. This man belongs to a Lewis gun section, and did exceptionally good work in the action of 15th September, and the 1st October, and though buried by a shell explosion and suffering from shell shock, he remained in front of his company covering them while they consolidated their position.'
