'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty from 21st August to 10th September, 1918. Ansin is an Observer on Brigade Headquarters. On 23rd August east of Puisiex au Mont he accompanied the Intelligence Officer who was reconnoitring the Brigade front and when the Officer was wounded Ansin completed the reconnaissance under heavy fire and brought back a clear and accurate report of the Brigade front. Again on 31st August, near Fremicourt, when the enemy counter attacked Ansin reconnoitred the whole Brigade Front visiting all the posts. His report was very clear and accurate giving full details of the enemy counter attack. During the whole of the operations Ansin has been in an observation post just behind the front posts and has been continually reconnoitring the front to gather information.'
