Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the field at Briastre on the 12th October, 1918. This soldier was a member of a bombing party in an attack on an enemy machine gun post which was holding up the advance. He, in company with the section Commander, rushed the post, put the gun crew to flight and captured the machine gun and two prisoners. His prompt and courageous action undoubtedly saved many lives. Throughout the operation he did excellent work.'
