Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At Crevecouer on 30th September 1918 and subsequent days he did splendid work laying and maintaining telephone
lines. The wires were continually cut by shell fire and he was untiring as well as most daring in keeping the lines working, going out at all times by day and night to repair breaks. He did consistently good work and showed great courage.'
