Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. Private Angus is a stretcher bearer. During the operations near Salesches on the 23rd October 1918, he displayed great courage and remarkable devotion to duty. He went under heavy fire and carried wounded continually for 18 hours without ceasing. He refused to stop, even for meals, till every wounded man was in. Private Angus set a great example to others,
and he was instrumental in alleviating the suffering of the wounded by his great devotion to his task.'
