Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. On 12th October 1917, during the attack on the Belle Vue Spur, this man showed great coolness and courage under the most dangerous circumstances. With his Section Commander he made a gallant attempt to push forward through the wire to the enemy?s position. His conduct and strict attention to duty set a splendid example to all around him; he had no hesitation in rushing forward in face of the most intense machine gun fire. Later, when further advance was impossible, Private Creighton rendered valuable assistance in the reorganisation and consolidation of the remaining troops.'
