Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At 4pm on 15th July 1918, near Hebuterne, Corpl Corbett led a bombing section forward in an attack, but was held up by a strong enemy post. Seeing this, Corpl Corbett rushed forward through a barrage of enemy bombs, and carried the position with the bayonet, thus enabling his Section to capture four light enemy machine guns. Later, when the enemy counter attack, led by an officer developed, Corpl Corbett showed great skill in organising his section and beating off the enemy. His dash and initiative were of great value.'
