Admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, 25 October 1915; transferred same day to No 2 Australian Stationary Hospital (abscess temporal); rejoined unit, Gallipoli, 9 November 1915.

Admitted to No 16 Stationary Hospital, Mudros, 21 December 1915 (catarrh, jaundice); transferred to No 15 General hospital, Alexandria, 2 January 1916; to NZ General Hospital, Cairo, 31 January 1916; discharged to Emery Clearing Camp, 9 February 1916; attached to NZ Base; rejoined unit, 6 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria for France, 8 April 1916.

Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 30 January 1917 (tonsillitis); discharged to unit, 2 February 1917; rejoined unit, in the field, 2 February 1917.

Evacuated to Field Ambulance, 15 April 1918; transferred same day to No 3 Casualty Clearing Station (cyst, right eye); to No 12 (USA) General Hospital, 17 April 1918; to No 3 stationary Hospital, 18 April 1918; to England, 19 April 1918, and admitted to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 21 April 1918.

Classified as 'unfit' by Medical Board, and placed on NZ Roll, 23 May 1918.

Marched in to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 11 June 1918.

Commenced return to New Zealand on board 'Remuera', 23 October 1918; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service: dermoid cyst), 19 December 1918.
