Military Medal 'In the operations against Belle Vue Spur, near Passchendaele Sapper Cameron worked continuously, under great difficulties, carrying up stores to Korek from 6.00am till Midnight 11th At 3.00am on the 12th he started out for Marsh Bottom, and after scrambling through mud almost waist-deep for 2 hours, collected his party in the dugout at the correct location, and commenced setting up his station. Daylight was on him before he had completed his ?earths? and the enemy trained a machine-gun on him. He, however, completed his task under heavy fire, and did his best to get signals back to Korek. He remained in his dugout for 36 hours, eventually getting signals through. Sapper Cameron's conduct was very noticeable in the previous fighting on the 4th October.'
