Military Medal 'For great gallantry and determination at Messines on 7th June 1917. Lance Corporal Bryne who is a Company Signaller, established communication with his Battalion Headquarters as soon as the Company reached its objective, and maintained it under heavy shell fire for thirty nine hours.'
