Military Medal 'During the operations against Bellevue Spur near Passchendaele on 12th October Sapper Bushill assisted to lay and subsequently maintained lines from cable head at Korek to Battalion Headquarters of 2nd Infantry Brigades, all were subject to frequent heavy shelling. The ground between was an open slope exposed to the enemy and swept by machine gun and shell fire. The lines were continually cut both by day and night and communication could be maintained only by constant patrolling and repair of lines. Sapper Bushill's disregard of danger and perseverance
under very unfavourable conditions were most marked.'
