Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on 8th October, 1918, near Crevecouer. Although wounded early in the advance he continued to harrass the enemy at every opportunity. He brought his Lewis Gun into action against an enemy Battery, dispersing one of the gun crews. He endeavoured to put out of action enemy Lewis Guns firing from a tank and continued until he had a stoppage which he repaired under fire. He set a splendid example to the men of his section.'
