It is not possible from the Nominal Roll to determine on which ship an individual embarked. The Nominal Roll gives the date of departure as 1 April 1916; harbour records indicate that the actual date of embarkation was 2 April 1916.

'This man is a Company stretcher bearer. In the early morning of the 10th instant on arriving back to Bulford Camp some 5 miles from the Black Line east of Messines he was informed that six men of his Company had been left wounded near Blauwen Molen at once returned voluntarily with three comrades and successfully removed the wounded to Advanced Dressing Station under continuous shelling from the enemy. His work was consistently good throughout the operations.'
