Military Medal 'Operations on Welsh and Bon Avis Ridges: 28th September to 1st October 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the advance, an enemy machine gun opened fire from a shell hole on the Company's left flank and temporarily held up the left. This NCO at once, with great disregard for his
personal safety, rushed the post alone, killed one of the crew, put the others to flight and captured the gun. This act of gallantry saved many casualties and
enabled the advance to continue.'
