Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on Grevillers on the 24th August. This NCO displayed conspicuous gallantry in locating and dealing with enemy machine guns. He afterwards took charge of a platoon when O.C. Company and platoon officer became casualties and greatly assisted towards the success of the operation.'
