Admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 11 November 1916, and transferred to 14th General Hospital, Wimereux, 12 November 1916 (bronchitis); to England, 14 November 1916, and admitted to 2nd London General Hospital, Chelsea; transferred to 2nd NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 29 November 1916 (phthisis). Classified 'Unfit' by Medical Board and placed on NZ Roll, 30 January 1917 (pulmonary tuberculosis).
