Proceeded overseas to France, 5 September 1916; joined 1st Bn, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, in the field, 22 September 1916. Wounded in action, 14 June 1917 (gun shot wound, back); admitted to 12th Australian Field Ambulance, 15 June 1917; discharged to duty, 14 July 1917. On leave to United Kingdom, 28 August 1915; rejoined unit from leave, 11 September 1917. Killed in action, 12 October 1917. 2nd ANZAC Burial Corps reported burial in and around the region Passchendaele/Bellevue Ridge: grave subsequently lost. Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal |
