Military Medal

'For very gallant conduct and devotion to duty during attack near Beaumont Hamel at 2pm on 30th March 1918. This man worked continuously for 14 hours bandaging and carrying wounded under very heavy shell and machine-gun fire. He went across an open space swept by heavy machine-gun fire and attended to a wounded Sergeant, placing him in a safe position.
