Military Medal 'On 5 November 1918 during advance through Forest of Mormal this NCO showed great courage in manipulating his limber and team through the scrub to avoid a mine crater. Owing to the boggy condition on the ground the limber had to be manhandled a distance of several hundred yards, while being subjected to heavy gas and High Explosive shelling. It was greatly due to the splendid example and courage of this NCO that men were kept working with super human effort, enabling the machine guns to progress with the foremost infantry.'
