Medals

Military Medal

'For gallantry east of Ploegsteert Wood on the 13th, 14th and 15th June 1917. Twice during the night 13/14th June he passed through a heavy enemy barrage with important messages. Later he was sent out to locate posts which had been established and carried out this duty under most difficult circumstances caused by the darkness, unknown country, and heavy shellfire. He returned with accurate information. He showed great gallantry and devotion to duty during the time his Battalion was holding the chain of posts which had been established.'
