Croix de Guerre (Belgium) 'For consistent gallantry and devotion to duty under shell fire whilst in charge of ammunition wagons at the gun positions and in particular on the night of
21st/22nd August near Puisieux, whilst both the road and the Battery positions were being heavily shelled, he guided every team into the gun position and it was
only by his coolness and example that the supply of ammunition to the guns could have been carried out.'
