Military Medal 'Whilst on the St. Julien Road on the morning of the 21st October 1917 in charge of some packs, Gunner Tyne showed great coolness and courage, in that when the road was suddenly heavily barraged, he stayed there at great personal risk, until he had directed the packs clear. He then went to the help of a party of packs of another battery, and gave assistance in getting them clear also. By his coolness and
quickness of decision he undoubtedly saved casualties to both men and horses.'
