Military Medal 'On the 12th October when pushing on the construction of an Infantry Track north east of Ypres this NCO showed great gallantry in completing the task allotted him despite the heavy shell fire. By his cool manner he showed a fine example to his party and encouraged them to persevere until the work was completed.'
