Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and able leadership. At Le Quesnoy on 4 November 1918, his section was caught on the flank, but by great gallantry and skillful handling of his section he was able to turn a very dangerous situation into a brilliant success resulting in the capture of a hundred prisoners and two machine guns.'
