Military Medal 'For great coolness and devotion to duty. During the attack on Messines on the 7 June 1917, he displayed great coolness in the advance and by his energy, control, and grasp of the position of the new line. He set a splendid example and by his energy and personal efforts consolidation of the position was thoroughly completed.'
