Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the Passchendaele Offensive Operations on 12th October 1917. This NCO on his own initiative
deployed two sections to fill a gap in the advance. When most his company Officers and NCOs had become casualties, he rendered great assistance in
reorganising his Company and consolidating the position.'
