Military Medal 'For most conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty while the Battalion was holding the line near Kron Prinz Farm from the 14th October to the 17th October
1917. He did excellent and courageous work as a runner for Brigade Headquarters and later, rejoining his unit, did further excellent and daring work in carrying despatches and acting as the guide for the relieving unit under very severe enemy shelling. He has previously done most excellent work, especially during the operations at Gravenstafel on the 4th and 5th of October 1917.'
