Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on 8th October, near Crevecouer. During the attack on 8th October Rifleman Strong displayed great initiative and daring. When the advance was held up by an enemy machine gun he crawled to the flank and shot the machine gunner. In addition, and throughout the operation Rifleman Strong did exceptionally good work as Company Runner, repeatedly passing through heavy barrages.'
