Medals

Military Medal

'For gallantry and devotion to duty. He was employed as a Brigade Runner during the operations in and around Messines on 7th 8th and 9th June 1917, carrying despatches from Brigade Forward Station on the Western Side of Messines to the Battalions in the line east of Messines. His path lay over ground which was constantly being shelled but Private Stow repeatedly went to and fro between the two stations with Messages thus maintaining communication between front Line troops and Brigade Headquarters. He showed great courage and his work was most valuable.'
