Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. At Crevecoeur on 30th September 1918 when his Platoon Commander was wounded his platoon was counter attacked and forced back over a branch of the river. He conducted the retirement in a very skilful manner and showed marked courage and ability throughout the whole operation.'
