Mentioned in Despatches 'This Officer showed great gallantry and devotion to duty during the fighting round Flers from the 16th to the 28th September. His platoon cleared the right of GROVE Alley and put in an excellent strong point on our right flank on the 26th September, thereby greatly assisting our advance the following day.'
