Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on the Passchendaele Ridge on 12th October 1917. He displayed great fearlessness in
carrying messages through heavy enemy machine gun and shell fire from his Company to Battalion Headquarters. His work throughout the operations was of the highest order.'
