Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During the operations on Grevillers and Bancourt on the 24th, 30th August and 1st September. Pte Sheahan
acted as a stretcher bearer and his work was of the highest order. He was untiring in his efforts to clear the field of wounded which was under very heavy machine gun and shell fire for hours. Set a fine example and is an exceptionally brave man.'
