Wounded in action, 22 October 1917 (shell shock); rejoined Bn, 23 October 1917.

Detached to 3rd Canadian Tunnelling Company, 11 December 1917; rejoined Bn from detachment, 18 January 1918.

Wounded in action (second occasion), 31 March 1918 gun shot wound, right leg: mild), and admitted to 56th General Hospital; transferred to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, 31 March 1918; to England, and admitted No 2 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames, 3 April 1918; discharged, 3 February 1919, and readmitted by new disease supervening (influenza); discharged to Sling Camp, 26 March 1919.
