Mentioned in Despatches 'This Officer was in command of the right company of the Battalion during the attack on the Grid Trench, on 1st October. His company did magnificent work and
Lieutenant Scott had himself reconnoitred the ground during the previous days and nights. They advanced under heavy machine gun fire and attained their
objective. Two officers were killed and the others including Lieut Scott were wounded. Out of 108 other ranks, 69 were casualties. Lieut Scott is an excellent officer, and distinguished himself at Armentieres under heavy shell fire.'
