Military Medal 'On the night of the 5th and 6th of June 1917, he went with his car several times through the heavily gassed area along the Red Lodge/Petit Pont Road, when it was heavily shelled by high explosive and gas shells. With the Car Driver he took stretchers to the dug outs of the Battery at T.23 b. and carried cases to his car and brought then protected from gas to the Dressing Station. This Wagon Orderly has never been untiring when calls from heavily shelled battery area have been made.'
