Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery, courage, and devotion to duty. On 4th November 1918, during the advance east of Le Quesnoy, as a Company Runner he indefatigably
carried important messages to Battalion and Platoon Headquarters, across very difficult country and through heavy shell and machine gun fire showing the utmost disregard for danger. His work throughout the whole operation was of a very high order and invaluable to his Company.'
