'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on 10th/11th October, 1917, near St Julien. When the guns of his battery were being moved forward under great difficulties, two guns became bogged, so that it was necessary to send away the teams and dig them out. In this work, which was performed under heavy enemy fire, Corporal Robinson set a fine example to his men.'
