Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and marked ability during a minor operations near Hebuterne on the night of 4/5th May 1918. He led two sections with great dash
against a strong enemy position and then held the captured trench against repeated determined bombing attacks. His bravery and utter disregard for danger
throughout the attack was most marked and set a sterling example to the men under his command.'
